The rotation speed and direction of the spiral separator can change the thickness and flow pattern of the water layer, and directly affect the motion law of the particle group in the spiral groove. Therefore, we have tested the rotating speed of the spiral separator from 8-40r / min and different rotating directions (the water flow is clockwise). The test shows that counterclockwise rotation can thicken the water layer (left-hand rule), while clockwise rotation can reduce the water layer. Therefore, the different rotation speed and direction of the spiral separator can double the thickness of the water layer in the spiral groove.

However, the flow pattern also changes greatly, especially at higher speed, counterclockwise rotation is more obvious. At this time, the flow pattern of liquid flow in the spiral groove is superimposed, the distribution width of water flow along the cross section in the spiral groove is narrowed, and the corresponding light and heavy mineral separation zone is narrowed. This will affect the interception accuracy of light and heavy minerals respectively. If the spiral separator rotates clockwise, the water layer will be thinned accordingly, and coarse particles are easy to precipitate at the bottom of the tank, so the purpose of separation cannot be achieved.
